Everything changes. Deep in the west of the Ruhr Area, the Ruhr feeds into the Rhine River. In the logistics city of Duisburg, everything is also always in motion. Senior Project Manager Roger Theyssen appreciates the short distance to clients within the megalopolis Rhine-Ruhr, but also to the closest football stadium.

Set your sights high. The port is a good example of how one can transform local conditions into an economic success factor (in this case geographical). A concept which Creative Director Tom Hoffmann transfers to many other spheres.

Duisburg moves with the times and is in a continuous transformation process. Yet, despite changes the city remains true to its roots. Having completed her training as media designer, Elisabeth Freese remains true to cantaloop and will continue her innovative and creative work for our team and for Duisburg.

Just a little bit freaky. Rhine, Ruhr, inland port: "Duisburg is a water town." Therefore, it is not surprising that Junior Art Director Annika Lewin spends part of her free time either in the water, or under it, like in this photo at the Zoo. But even for those who are a bit more water shy, Duisburg offers lots to see and experience.

Today’s gastronomy places particularly high demands on counter and bar products. 4BAR is an excellent low-price alternative for many delicious premium quality cocktails or long drinks.

4BAR products are available in eight different flavours: Dry Gin, Vodka, Cachaça, Triple Sec, Sambuca, Scotch, White and Black Rum.

cantaloop developed the stringent design of this brand-new product line. A modern mix of clear, plain typography and carefully arranged graphic details forms the basis of product presentation, giving it a high-quality touch. In view of the target group, the central trademark is a mirror ball with a "4BAR Dancing Queen". A colour code makes the different flavours distinguishable.

4BAR Product Manager André Kolodziej is optimistic: "4BAR products are made by and for professionals, offering superb quality at an attractive market price. It was clear from the outset that our premium products can only succeed with a premium outfit in this competitive market. Thanks to cantaloop, the product’s presentation is equivalent to the high-class content, so the launch of 4BAR should be a success.”

4BAR products are available only in specialist retail outlets.

With the “Vestische Straßenbahnen GmbH”, cantaloop added  another transport company to their portfolio.

02/2011. GOFA - from the road into the Internet

GOFA offer nothing but “heavy stuff”. The company from Goch in the Lower Rhine region manufactures tanks, dry bulk and gas vehicles. A range made from specialists for specialists. All the more important to present this complex subject in clean lines.
That is why usability was cantaloop’s main concern for the GOFA website design. The manufacturer’s different types of vehicles are presented on separate pages. Navigation supports the clear arrangement at all times, with an unobtrusive graphical framework allowing you to focus on the subject.
“cantaloop have managed to post online our company’s essential statements precisely to the point”, Simon Olfen says from GOFA GmbH, “we completely recognize ourselves on our new website.
”Also, the page contents were chosen to bring the customer real added value: picture galleries showing large and powerful photos, along with examples of various constructions, download options offering in-depth information to be used for sales or for customer in-house information.

11/2010. defiDU - cantaloop shows a soft heart for Duisburg

“defiDU” is the name of a unique campaign originally founded by the Stadtwerke Duisburg AG (Duisburg public utilities) and further partners, aiming at the foundation of a tight network of publicly accessible defibrillators all over Duisburg. These small appliances enable even untrained persons to immediately give lifesaving aid in cases of imminent cardiac arrest.

As main sponsor of “defiDU”, cantaloop has developed an extensive information and advertising campaign. Under the motto “defi DU kannst retten” (“save lives with defiDU”) cantaloop mobilised, motivated and photographed a total of 21 popular figures. “Beside Duisburg celebrities and sports bodies, a tram driver, two students, a grandmother and an engineer, to name just a few, act as protagonists for the “defiDU” action. This testimonial campaign is to reach as large a target group as possible, so we selected faces from all population and age groups. Authenticity and character mattered more than flawless faces”, Tom Hoffmann, a cantaloop responsible creative mind, explains. The photo motifs will appear on CityLightPosters, large panel posters and videoboards throughout the city, as well as in vehicles and at stops of Duisburg public transport services. General information is provided by the campaign website at www.defidu.de.

cantaloop manager Hans-Jürgen Schörner is delighted by the social commitment of the Stadtwerke Duisburg: “This unique initiative is excellent for Duisburg and its citizens. It was clear from the beginning that this campaign deserves our wholehearted support. In everyday agency life it’s difficult to get round to social actions beside current projects, but “defiDU” was definitely worth the effort. We hope this idea will become famous also beyond the borders of Duisburg and will be followed by many other cities.”

Torsten Hiermann, founder of the action on the part of the Stadtwerke Duisburg AG: “cantaloop is an essential partner, and I am more than pleased with the unselfish support. The creative team from the Dell quarter has developed an extensive and innovative campaign that has become even more attractive by the use of up-to-date technology, like for example QR coding. Thus, in an almost playful way we’ve managed to call even the youth’s attention to the topic. And with the development of a defibrillator finder application for smartphones, cantaloop has once again thought outside the box, greatly exceeding our expectations. Now, our campaign has just the visibility it needs and deserves.”

It is expected that the tightest network of publicly accessible defibrillators all over Germany will have emerged in Duisburg by 2015 with the help of the “defiDU” campaign. An important commitment to Duisburg!
